On June 6, Ejin Horoo Banner's largest integrated agriculture and photovoltaic (PV) power project was connected to the grid and began operations.
The project consists of two 6-megawatt photovoltaic installations: Wulan Group’s dairy and beef cattle breeding PV project and the Wulan Modern Agribusiness Innovation Park PV project.
Built using the rooftops of standardized cattle barns and surrounding idle land, the projects adopt a combined rooftop and ground-mounted system. This approach conserves land while creating a sustainable "pasture-PV" and "grass-PV" ecological model.
The project is expected to generate an average of 17.28 million kilowatt-hours annually, reducing standard coal consumption by approximately 5,667 metric tons and carbon dioxide emissions by about 17,228 tons per year.
The initiative integrates photovoltaic energy with modern agriculture and animal husbandry, playing a key role in improving Ejin Horoo’s energy mix, boosting its modern energy sector, and promoting low-carbon development in its farming and ranching industries.
