Ordos in North China's Inner Mongolia autonomous region participated in the 35th Shanghai Tourism Festival on Sept 14 with a themed float, showcasing the city's unique charm and boundless appeal.
The Ordos float captivated the audience with its distinctive design and rich cultural connotations, earning applause and cheers.
An illuminated map of city nightscapes and landmark silhouettes highlighted Ordos' warmth. Golden crystals and windmill designs symbolized the city's abundant mineral resources and thriving new energy industry.

The three-colored ribbon design conveyed both the deep affection of the mother river embracing the land and the welcoming spirit of the floating hada (a white ethnic scarf that represents purity, honesty, and good tidings) for guests from all over the world. Ordos' city flower, the Malan flower, represented the hardworking and humble people and embodied their striving spirit and dedication to the frontier.
From now until Oct 6, the "Warm City Ordos" float will join other floats in a tour across 12 districts of Shanghai, covering approximately 1,800 kilometers.
