After 11 months of construction, the second phase of the Jingtai Suancigou power plant's 1000kV outbound project in Juungar Banner of Ordos city in North China's Inner Mongolia autonomous region successfully commenced operations on July 23.

This project, a supporting initiative in the 1000kV ultra-high voltage transmission channel from Inner Mongolia West to Tianjin South, starts at the Jingtai Suancigou power plant's boosting station and ends at the 1000kV ultra-high voltage station in Ordos. It includes 60 iron towers along a 33.5-kilometer transmission line.

The overall investment in the project totaled 397 million yuan ($56.63 million), and the construction officially began in August 2022.

State Grid East Mongolia Power has taken a crucial initiative to implement the national energy development strategy. This initiative aims to ensure energy supply during summer peak and enhance the transmission capacity of ultra-high voltage channels. It's a responsible measure that shows their commitment to this important task.

The project's operation will promote the industrial transformation and upgrading of Juungar Banner, improve the local conversion rate of coal, and supply 6.6 billion kWh of electricity annually to the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region.

It is also expected to stimulate the resource development and utilization in Juungar Banner effectively, serve the economic and social development of the region, and significantly enhance the power supply security in the East China and North China regions.
