Kangbashi Smart Bookstore, the newly emerging hot spot in the Kangbashi district in Ordos city, opened its doors on July 5.
The bookstore spans an area of 100 square meters and adopts the popular art architectural style.
Fu Yao, director of the Kangbashi news publication and radio, film, and television bureau, said, "Nowadays, every tourist city has a signature landmark for people to take photos. Although our bookstore is small, every inch of its exterior is carefully designed to embody a trendy and high-quality lifestyle."
"When we started to build this bookstore two months ago, the designer proposed a plan to remove the previously heavy concrete walls and replace them with fully transparent white glass, creating a strong visual impact when sunlight spills into the bookstore," she added.

The bookstore currently houses more than 3,000 physical books and over 100,000 e-books.
What sets this bookstore apart from traditional ones is the incorporation of numerous high-tech elements.
For example, an intelligent system has been installed, allowing people to enter by simply swiping their ID cards and following the steps to borrow books.
The bookstore also offers audiobook services, allowing visitors to enjoy the experience by wearing headphones.
Fu revealed that they will also provide coffee and other services in the future.
