Since the beginning of this year, the city of Ordos in North China's Inner Mongolia autonomous region has made remarkable achievements in investment and business promotion.

From January to April, Ordos introduced 16.52 billion yuan ($2.33 billion) of domestic capital, an increase of 71.2 percent year-on-year.

During the corresponding time frame, the utilization of foreign capital reached an impressive sum of 105.57 million yuan, signifying a remarkable increase of 23 times when compared to the previous year. This remarkable surge catapulted the region to a prominent position, securing the second spot for the autonomous region in terms of the total amount of foreign capital influx, while simultaneously claiming the coveted first place in terms of the growth rate of growth rate achieved.

In the first four months of this year, the investment in significant projects with agreements exceeding 1 billion yuan in Ordos accounted for more than 80 percent of the total planned investment.

With the gradual implementation of newly signed projects, investment's role in promoting the whole city's fixed asset investment has been further demonstrated.

Currently, the investment structure is continuously optimized. The secondary industry is still the main focus of investment, and investment in the tertiary industry has been increasing.

The Ordos is expected to complete a total of around 23 billion yuan in domestic capital investment during the first half of the year.
