Deals worth 7.84 billion yuan ($1.13 billion) were signed at the 17th Ordos International Coal and Energy Industry Expo, held in Ordos in North China's Inner Mongolia autonomous region on May 6-8.

The expo served as a world-class exchange and cooperation platform for the energy industry and was themed on "strengthening energy cooperation and boosting joint development" this year.

Over three days, over 1,200 exhibitors across the country displayed their intelligent equipment and technology of coal mines, as well as the process, technologies, and achievements of the new energy industrial chains covering wind power, solar power, hydrogen, and hydrogen storage.

The number of visits to the expo reached 81,179, and the online views of the expo exceeded 5 million.

Meanwhile, another 28 forums were held during the expo, inviting over 80 experts and scholars to discuss, exchange ideas and provide solutions for China's energy development, clean and efficient utilization of coal, and intelligent construction of coal mines.

It's worth mentioning that China's high-tech giant Huawei announced building off the Kuanghong City in Ordos and released its unmanned driving solutions for open pit mines at the expo.

According to Guo Zhenxing, the person in charge of the marketing and solutions of coal mines in Huawei, Kuanghong is an operating system based on openharmonyOS jointly launched by Huawei and China Energy Group in September 2021.

The first Kuanghong demonstration mine is the Shendong Ulan Mulun Coal Mine of China Energy Group in Ordos.

The key laboratory of Kuanghong industrial internet innovation of the National Mine Safety Supervision Bureau was also unveiled in Ordos.

Guo believes that based on this crucial laboratory, the combination of Kuanghong and the industrial internet is expected to become an emerging industry in Ordos, leading to the construction of intelligent mines in the city.
