An activity to boost cultural exchanges and tourism cooperation between the city of Ordos, in North China's Inner Mongolia autonomous region, and Xi'an city, in Northwest China's Shaanxi province, was successfully held in Xi'an on April 14.

The activity was sponsored by the Ordos municipal government and attended by the Xi'an government. Other attendees include representatives from relevant cultural and tourism departments, tourism enterprises, agencies and associations from both cities.

Ordos launched the Xi'an-Ordos joint tour promotion policies at the activity, which encourages Xi'an travel agencies to organize for tourists who come to Xi'an to also travel to Ordos for vacation.

A reward, ranging from 500,000 yuan to 3.5 million yuan, will be given to travel agencies that organize more than 10,000 tourist visits to Ordos throughout the year. The award amount will be decided according to the duration of overnight stays.

Moreover, 10 travel agencies from Ordos city signed cooperation intentions with 12 counterparts from Xi'an, aiming to introduce around 70,000 tourist visits to Ordos city within the year.

Additionally, another 10 enterprises from Ordos and Xi'an signed cooperation intentions at the activity, with a deal amount of 280 million yuan.
