Ordos issues funds to reward science, technology innovation

The city of Ordos in North China's Inner Mongolia autonomous region recently issued 15.75 million yuan ($2.37 million) to reward enterprises and projects with strong performances in technological innovation.
The fund winners are mainly newly-built science and technology platform carriers, newly-recognized science and technology enterprises, newly-approved science and technology awards, as well as newly-established national science and technology projects.
Meanwhile, another 15 technology R&D projects and commercialization of scientific research result projects in the city will obtain 13.30 million yuan in subsidies.
The subsidies are among a series of moves made by Ordos to support local enterprises in science and technology innovation, and have already delivered strong results in recent years.
In 2021, 72 high-tech enterprises were recognized in Ordos and 178 small and medium-sized technology-based enterprises were included in the city’s high-tech enterprise library, and 117 of the 452 industrial enterprises above designated size in the city were removed from the lists of no R&D investments, no R&D institutions and no invention patents.
