Ordos NTO serves at Beijing Winter Olympics

Zhang Nan from the city of Ordos in North China's Inner Mongolia autonomous region has been chosen as a national technical official, or NTO and is now proudly serving at the Beijing 2022 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games.
An NTO is the general name for technical representatives, competition officials, referees and metering officials at the games.
It is the first time Zhang has participated in the Olympics and Paralympic Olympics as an NTO.
He is currently working in the National Biathlon Center in the Zhangjiakou competition zone.

Zhang has many years of experience in outdoor sports and is currently a senior outdoor sports instructor for the China Mountaineering Association and is a national first-level referee for the triathlon.
In 2020, Zhang was recommended by the Winter Sports Management Center of the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region Sports Bureau to participate in the fourth phase of the Winter Olympics Biathlon NTO training. He passed the assessment with flying colors, to obtain the Winter Olympics NTO qualification.
Zhang said it was a great honor for him to be a member of the NTOs and he would try his best to do his job and help more Ordos residents learn about winter sports and the Winter Olympics.
