From March 19 to 21, a documentary introducing the intangible cultural heritage of Ordos city in North China's Inner Mongolia autonomous region was broadcast on China Central Television's documentary channel, CCTV9.

The documentary was launched by Ordos' municipal culture and tourism bureau.

The documentary is composed of three parts: "The Soul of the Grassland," "The Love of the Earth" and "The Sound of Nature." It vividly shows the long-standing, rich and colorful intangible cultural heritage items of Ordos city.

Located in northern China, Ordos city is surrounded by the "几"-shaped bend of the Yellow River and the Great Wall built in the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644).

It contains and inherits colorful and splendid ethnic cultural heritage.

Currently, Ordos has six items of intangible cultural heritage on the national intangible cultural heritage list, 92 items at the autonomous region level and 212 items at the municipal level.

In recent years, the city of Ordos has promoted the high-quality development of the cultural and tourism industry and has continuously increased its protection of intangible cultural heritage. As a result, Ordos' intangible cultural heritage items thrive in the new era.
