Ordos' cultural industry generates profits in 2020

In 2020, the cultural industry and related sectors above designated size in Ordos city in North China's Inner Mongolia autonomous region achieved an operating income of 690 million yuan ($103.53 million), turning from loss to profit.
Of which, news and information services, creative design services, cultural communication channels, cultural auxiliary production and intermediary services, and newspaper information services achieved year-on-year revenue growth.
Cultural entertainment and leisure services, radio, film and television releases and screenings, scenic spot tour services and leisure tourism declined year-on-year.
Creative design services achieved an income of 110 million yuan, cultural communication channels generated 187 million yuan and cultural auxiliary production and intermediary services generated 103 million yuan.
The operating incomes of cultural entertainment and leisure services, publication distribution, printing and copying services and scenic spot tour services reached 265 million yuan, 182 million yuan, 103 million yuan and 222 million yuan, respectively.
The income of cultural communication channels and publication distribution industries maintained relatively rapid growth, with growth rates reaching 122.6 percent and 170.6 percent, respectively.
In terms of industry types, the cultural manufacturing industry generated revenue of 103 million yuan, a year-on-year increase of 29.3 percent; the cultural wholesale and retail industry was 183 million yuan, a year-on-year increase of 170.6 percent; and the cultural service industry was 400 million yuan.
The income of cultural and related industries above designated size in the city’s Dongsheng district, Kangbashi district and Ejin Horoo Banner achieved increases, with year-on-year growth rates of 16.8 percent, 5.0 percent and 27.2 percent, respectively. The growth rates of other banners and districts showed a slowing rate of decline.
