Opening-up expands
From 2016 to 2019, the city’s total value of imports and exports was 27.29 billion yuan, of which imports were 12.08 billion yuan and exports were 15.22 billion yuan.
Last year, 56 enterprises in Ordos city carried out import and export trading operations and had trade relations with 103 countries and regions.
As of the end of 2019, the actual use of foreign direct investment in Ordos reached $7.32 billion.
People’s livelihoods is enhanced
In 2019, the per capita disposable income of urban residents in Ordos reached 49,768 yuan, 1.3 times that of 2015, with an average annual increase of 7.4 percent; the per capita disposable income of farmers and herdsmen reached 20,075 yuan, 1.4 times that of 2015, with an average annual increase of 8.6 percent.
Last year, public fiscal expenditure on education, health, culture and sports in Ordos reached 13.32 billion yuan, accounting for 21.2 percent of the city’s total general public budget expenditure.
There were 576 schools of various types in the city, an increase of 53 over 2015; the number of faculty members was 38,000, an increase of 18.3 percent over 2015.
There were 1,734 health institutions, of which 95 were hospitals, an increase of 27 from 2015.
In 2019, the number of people covered by social insurance – comprising basic pension, basic medical care, unemployment, work injuries and maternity -- reached 1.04 million, 1.64 million, 272,700, 363,100 and 330,000, respectively.
