Ordos in North China’s Inner Mongolia autonomous region moved up 22 spots to 54th on the 2018 list of top 100 China’s cities for foreign trade.

The list was recently released by China Customs, an internationally recognized academic journal compiled by the General Administration of Customs of China. 

It compared the trade competitiveness, economic structure, commercial income, as well as the development potential of China’s cities. 

According to the list, 152 cities experienced growth in international trade of more than 10 percent, while 93 cities witnessed growth of over 20 percent from 2018 to 2019. 

The top 10 cities on the list were Shenzhen, Shanghai, Dongguan, Suzhou, Zhuhai, Xiamen, Guangzhou, Ningbo, Tianjin and Beijing.

Experts said that the income from China’s international trade in 2018 hit a record high for the country, maintaining its status as the world’s largest trading nation.
