International desert forum concludes in Ordos

The 7th Kubuqi International Desert Forum came to a close in Ordos, North China’s Inner Mongolia autonomous region, on July 28.
The forum opened on July 27 and attracted over 300 participants from 45 countries and international organizations, including scientists, senior government officials, businessmen, and representatives from media organizations.
Under the theme of “Greening the Belt and Road, Building an Ecological Civilization”, a wide range of issues were discussed at the forum, including desertification control and green economic development, which resulted in a series of remarkable academic achievements.
During the closing ceremony, Ouyang Xiaohui, vice-chairman of Inner Mongolia, approved of the achievements made at the forum. He said that the forum provides a platform for countries to discuss desertification control.
Siqinbilige, mayor of Ordos, pronounced the forum a resounding success, saying it explored new ways to pursue global desertification control and green economic development.
The Kubuqi International Desert Forum is held every two years and promotes global cooperation in desertification control.
