Ulaanqab, a city in North China's Inner Mongolia autonomous region, started installing one-click smart devices for seniors in communities on May 30.
According to local media reports, one-click smart health service centers mainly serve elderly people without families, empty nesters, disabled elderly, and elderly living in poverty.
The devices make use of advanced technologies such as artificial intelligence, big data, and cloud computing and offer one-click assistance to elderly folk. Seniors just need to press a button to receive first aid, talk with their family doctor, and more.
The first set of smart service terminals for the elderly will be installed in the homes of more than 1,300 people over 70-years-old in Ulaanqab's Jining district. The names, telephone numbers, and addresses of the seniors will be recorded, and when they need emergency assistance while at home, they can use the device to call the local emergency center.
The one-click intelligent healthcare project is a new measure meant to improve the lives of the elderly. It aims to make use of resources from all sectors of society to satisfy the medical needs of the elderly, providing them with emergency first aid services, medical consultations, and other convenient services right in the comfort of their homes.
