A new all-purpose card will be unveiled for residents living in Hohhot, Baotou and Ordos in Inner Mongolia autonomous region.

The rollout of the new card is designed to merge some government services offered by authorities in the three cities, according to a document released by the government of Inner Mongolia autonomous region.

With the new cards, residents will be able to enter tourist sites, use public transport, access medical treatment, and complete household registration procedures.

The document details how the provincial government will use the card to merge more services in the near future, with plans to launch a special card solely for transportation, as well as ideas to set up a medical platform and tourism organization.

It is also expected that it will allow residents to move more easily between the three cities, thanks to the household registration options.

In addition, the document states that there will be uniform telecommunication charges in the three cities from July 1, 2019.
