Inner Mongolia introduces outpatient eye surgery

The first room for outpatient ophthalmological surgery has recently been set up at the Affiliated Hospital of Inner Mongolia Medical University in Hohhot, Inner Mongolia autonomous region, according to a local media report on Nov 13.
The surgical room was established after three-months of preparations, during which doctors and nurses assigned to the room were sent to visit national state-of-the-art ophthalmologic hospitals, learning from the best-equipped facilities in the country.
The services provided by the eye surgery room so far include cataract phacoemulsification, vitreous cavity injection and pterygium surgery.
