Ejin Horo Airport handles 1.7m passengers

Ordos Ejin Horo International Airport, located in Ordos, Inner Mongolia autonomous region, had handled 1,706,868 passengers by the end of October, surpassing the number recorded last year, according to an announcement by the airport.

In partnership with 14 airlines, Ordos Ejin Horo International Airport has 46 routes to  both domestic and foreign destinations, including Bangkok, Phuket, Moscow and Frankfurt.

If passengers transit through Xi’an International Airport, 18 other cities can be reached from Ordos Ejin Horo International airport. It is estimated that the number of passengers traveling through the airport will be more than two million by 2017.

The airport will also revive services to some major domestic destinations such as Hangzhou, Sanya, Jinan, Shenzhen and Lanzhou. It will also launch a new international air service connecting popular tourist destinations such as Paris, Prague and Rome.

By the end of 2017, Ordos Ejin Horo International Airport will have services to five countries –– Russia, Israel, France, the Czech Republic and Italy.
