The Change of the Desert, a play about combating desertification on grassland, was staged on Sept 13 in Ordos, Inner Mongolia autonomous region. 

The play tells a story about people of the grassland, from generation to generation, using different ways — traditional skills and modern technologies — to plant trees in the desert to stop desertification and green their hometown. 

The play shows the spirit of fearlessness and perseverance of the Mongolian people. They will never yield to the sand or give up controlling it whatever the hardships. 

The Change of the Desert is one of the designated plays of the 13th Session of the United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification which opened on Sept 6 and will last until Sept 17.
