Peng Qinghua, vice-chairman of the Standing Committee of China’s National People's Congress, attended the reception for the 62nd anniversary of the signing of the China-DPRK Treaty of Friendship, Cooperation and Mutual Assistance held by Ri Ryong-nam, ambassador of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea to China, at the embassy in Beijing on July 11.

The two sides acknowledged the great significance of the treaty and said that efforts will be made to strengthen strategic communication and cooperation in accordance with the spirit of the treaty, in a bid to jointly push for new and greater achievements in the development of the relations between the two countries.
