Updated: 2022-07-25

A team led by Shen Yueyue, vice-chairwoman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress (NPC), inspected the enforcement of the Yangtze River Protection Law in Central China's Hunan province, from July 15 to 18.

Shen stressed that the law should be fully and effectively implemented to protect the mother river of the Chinese nation.

Recognizing the achievements made by Hunan, she said it was important to further enhance the education and publicity of the law, strengthen the performance of statutory duties, and advance the gradual progress of the law enforcement.

The NPC Standing Committee team visited the cities of Changsha, Zhuzhou, Changde and Yueyang, heard the report on the province's enforcement of the law, and held meetings with representatives of deputies to people's congresses at various levels, as well as grassroots law enforcement officers, to solicit their opinions on the enforcement of the law.
