It is known that more than 3,500 New Zealand high-quality breeding sheep were imported, with the varieties including Saanen, Toggenburg and Alpine. China Southern Airlines used two flights of a Boeing 777F cargo aircraft to transport them, with the second flight arriving Feb 23, the next day, at Yinchuan airport.

The breeding sheep will be quarantined for a period of forty-five days, and then shipped to customers after passing laboratory testing and clinical quarantine.

Yinchuan airport is the only port in Ningxia approved by the State Council to be granted Third Freedom, Fourth Freedom and Fifth Freedom of the Air to the UAE. It is the most important window for Ningxia to integrate into the construction of the Belt & Road Initiative and expand the region's opening up to the outside world. Since it was opened to foreign aircraft in 2008, it has received 955,000 entry and exit personnel, which has effectively promoted foreign exchanges, advanced the development of Ningxia's export-oriented economy and tourism industry, and enhanced Ningxia's international image.
