On July 2, the Fifth China-Arab States Expo and the Henan-themed Economic and Trade Cooperation and Promotion Conference were held in Zhengzhou, Henan province.
The conference was jointly sponsored by the Department of Commerce of Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region, the Department of Commerce of Henan Province, and the Expo Bureau of the Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region.

Kong Guohua, deputy director of the the Department of Commerce of Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region, said that the Henan-themed event is an important measure to strengthen the existing cooperation foundation between Henan and Ningxia and to integrate it with the construction of the Belt and Road Initiative.
"It will help the theme provinces to exploit the Belt and Road market by taking advantage of the expo platform, and achieve mutual benefit and win-win results in the construction of an open platform, the shaping of an open pattern, the creation of an open environment, and the establishment of a new mechanism for regional coordinated development," said Kong.

Sun Jinglin, deputy director of the Department of Commerce of Henan Province, said at the promotion meeting that Henan and Ningxia have their own characteristics, within which there are broad prospects and space for cooperation and development.
Sun added that the all the commerce departments of Henan will earnestly seize the opportunity of participating in the China-Arab States Expo and further deepen cooperation in the fields of industry, industrial parks, investment, trade and exhibitions.

As an emerging industrial province, Henan has now formed two trillion-yuan industrial clusters of equipment manufacturing and food industry, and is developing electronic information, automobiles and parts, modern homes, clothing, and advanced manufacturing; while Ningxia has obvious advantages in energy, agriculture, and tourism, as well as unique industrial advantages and competent platforms such as the China-Arab States Expo. The two provinces complement each other's advantages, and have broad prospects for cooperation.
At the meeting, representatives of the Yinchuan Economic and Technological Development Zone, the Shizuishan Economic and Technological Development Zone, the Luoyang Economic and Technological Development Zone, the Wuzhong Municipal Bureau of Commerce and Investment Promotion and the Guyuan Municipal Bureau of Commerce introduced local key industries.
Enterprises including PowerChina Henan Engineering Co Ltd, Haoxiangyou Health Food Co Ltd, and IMC Group, as well as the Henan Food Industry Association, expressed their wish to seek cooperation with Ningxia in key characteristic industries, and hoped to further strengthen exchanges and cooperation with Ningxia and countries involved in the "Belt and Road" through the expo.
The fifth China-Arab States Expo will be held in Yinchuan, Ningxia from August 19 to 22, 2021. With the theme of "strengthening economic and trade cooperation and building the Belt and Road, this session focuses on post-epidemic international cooperation in digital economy, energy, science and technology, agriculture and tourism.
As a national and international comprehensive expo co-sponsored by the Ministry of Commerce, the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade and the People's Government of the Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region, the China-Arab States Expo has become an important platform for the Belt and Road Initiative. More than 5,000 domestic and foreign enterprises, and more than 40,000 domestic and foreign guests from more than 110 countries and regions participated in previous sessions, and a total of 936 cooperative projects of various types have been signed.
