Ningbo firms power aerospace future
At the just-concluded 15th China International Aviation and Aerospace Exhibition (Airshow China), Ningbo-based enterprises displayed their advanced aerospace technologies and innovations to nearly 600,000 professional visitors and enthusiasts over six days.
Ningbo Zhongke Xianglong Lightweight Technology Co Ltd, specializing in metal 3D printing technology, showcased its capabilities in printing engine components and providing technical support from the design and development stages.
"We've been working closely with major aerospace enterprises, research institutes, and universities globally," said a representative from the company, "Our expertise in printing engine components and providing technical support from the design and development stages has been well-received by the industry."
Sino-Engine Technologies Co Ltd, another Ningbo enterprise, garnered significant attention for its independently developed engine turbine-electric system. This innovative product boasts an energy density eight times higher than that of conventional batteries, making it a potential game-changer in the drone industry and other low-altitude applications.
Several other Ningbo enterprises made their debut at the expo. These companies, with backgrounds in traditional manufacturing, have diversified into aerospace product development and manufacturing, benefiting from China's growing aerospace industry and increasing domestic demand.
Ningbo Tiansheng Sealing Packing Co Ltd, a leading seal producer since 1993, was among them.
"The aerospace industry is a strategically important sector for China, and we're proud to be part of its growth," said a representative from Tiansheng, "The expo has provided us with a great platform to showcase our capabilities and connect with potential partners."
Ningbo's aerospace and low-altitude economy manufacturing sectors have given rice to notable firms, benefiting from the city's traditional manufacturing strengths and the innovations of its research institutes. With more than 50 Ningbo enterprises involved in aerospace product development and manufacturing, including over 20 related to the low-altitude economy, the city is well-positioned to seize the opportunities presented by China's push to develop aerospace and low-altitude economy.
