Ningbo to welcome local tourism day

Residents of Ningbo in East China's Zhejiang province will be able to tour local scenic spots and cultural sites at a 50-percent discount or free of charge on Oct 17.

The day has been designated as a tourism day for local residents and is an integral part of the city's annual tourism festival.

In addition to local identity card holders, those with local residence permits or temporary residence permits issued by Ningbo public security organs are eligible to receive the discounts. 

A total of 68 scenic spots, hotels and homestays will launch preferential policies tailored to local residents. 

Among them, 45 attractions including Xikou Scenic Spot, Ningbo Ocean World, Xiangshan Film and Television City, and Tianyi Pavilion are offering a 50-percent discount.

Seven scenic spots such as Xuedou Mountain Giant Buddha Scenic Area, Shuanggang Tourist Resort and Banbian Mountain Tourist Resort will be free of charge.

On the day, local residents will also be granted discounts for activities such as canoeing, sailing, go-karting and night boat tours.

Those who wish to visit are required to make real-name reservations via the official WeChat accounts for scenic spots at least one day in advance.
