A total of 83 corporate parks in Ningbo were listed as Zhejiang provincial parks for micro and small enterprises, local authorities said.

According to the Ningbo municipal bureau of economy and information technology, more than 42.17 percent of its parks that made the list have a focus on manufacturing.

Micro and small enterprises are significant drivers behind economic growth in Ningbo.

Official data shows that Ningbo has 310,000 small and micro enterprises, accounting for 97 percent of the total number of enterprises in the city.

The private economy contributes 60 percent of the city's gross domestic product (GDP), 75 percent of its jobs, and 52 percent of total company revenue.

However, most micro and small enterprises in Ningbo are at the lower end of the global industrial and value chain, facing problems such as a decentralized layout and weak market competitiveness.

In bid to tackle these problems, the local government has adopted series of measures to help micro and small companies set up bases in parks and encourage them to seek industrial transformation and upgrading.
