The 2018 China Smart City Technology and Application Products Expo was held in Ningbo from Sept 7 to 9, exhibiting products of over 400 companies from home and abroad, and attracting around 75,000 people to visit. 

"It not only provides an opportunity for overseas exhibitors to communicate with their Chinese counterparts, but also expands the channel for China-Europe trade cooperation," said Cheng Liyan, secretary general of the European American Chamber of Commerce & Industry.

The expo witnessed the signing of 34 projects in the fields of smart manufacturing, the industrial internet, robots, integrated circuits and smart cities, bringing a record-high investment value of 26.1 billion yuan ($3.80 billion) to Ningbo, up 143.9 percent year-on-year.

Meanwhile, at the Global Intelligent Economy Summit held during the three-day event, nearly 200 senior scientists, entrepreneurs and business leaders shared their insights on hotspot issues concerning artificial intelligence, big data, the Internet of Things and the industrial internet. 

The biggest achievement of the summit was the Ningbo Consensus on Developing Green and Smart Cities for China and Europe, agreed upon by 30 city representatives from the two sides.

Organizers have deemed the expo a success, amid hopes it will help to promote the city of Ningbo on the international stage.
