Ningbo holds national internet media forum

The 2018 China Internet Media Forum was held in Ningbo on Sept 6, gathering over 700 internet media directors, professionals and government officials to discuss the current and future trends of the internet media.
With the theme of the reform and development of the media in an internet-connected era, the forum discussed how to strengthen positive publicity online, enhance knowledge of new media technologies, and promote a sound development of China's internet media.
"We will keep driving the in-depth integration of different media forms to spread more positive and mainstream values to the public," said Zheng Shanjie, Party chief of Ningbo.
Zheng also extended invitations to the media to visit Ningbo and help introduce the city to the outside world.
Gao Xiang, deputy director of the Office of the Central Cyberspace Affairs Commission, expressed a wish for internet media groups to fulfill their duty and promote the image of China on the internet.
Directors of well-known internet media companies shared their views on the opportunities and challenges faced by the media in the new era and how they should promote the upgrading of the industry by integrating the media with other sectors.
Meanwhile, a list of most influential Chinese online news outlets was also announced at the forum, and Ningbo Daily, the local news outlet, made the list and ranked 22nd.
