The 5th China Robot Summit will be held in Yuyao, Zhejiang province from May 9-11, according to a news conference on March 27.

Themed on the combination of artificial intelligence (AI) and robots, the national event will be hosted by Zhejiang provincial government. The summit will arrange an array of activities including forums on different topics, exhibitions, matchmaking talks, competitions and roadshows to promote the development of Chinese robots.

Top experts specializing in robotics, AI and intelligent manufacturing will be invited to exchange insights on the prospects of robot industry.

Officials introduced a few highlights that will brighten the summit. It was announced that Wang Zeshan, winner of the 2017 State Preeminent Science and Technology Award, China's top science award will attend the summit.

The big data of the robot industry will also be released at the event. There will be a matchmaking symposium on the intelligent manufacturing sector and an exhibition of classic cases of intelligent manufacturing systems.

Competitions on innovation and startups are going to enrich the summit on the sidelines, according to officials. Moreover, a series of high-end talks will cover projects, talent and capital about the robot industry.

"We hope the summit will boost the development of robots in Yuyao and even the entire Yangtze River Delta," said Liu Jinchang, chairman of China Robot Summit.
