Toilet seats are serious business for Ningbo Bofan Sanitary Company.

The company has an entire research team working to produce the perfect throne for its customers. It even acquired 30 toilet seat patents last year.

Now, Bofan has set its sights on filling bathrooms around the world.

The company's toilet seats are particularly popular in South Africa and Argentina, where Bofan has an 80 percent market share, according to Wang Hongjian, vice manager of the company.

What's more special is that all the toilet seats produced by the company are made from sawdust from the furniture industry.

"We used to manufacture toilet seats using solid wood, but they warped out of shape easily and were not very waterproof," said Wang. "We occasionally found that sawdust could solve the problems and then did lots of experiments to find out the most suitable type of sawdust."

Bofan Company can produce 15,000 toilet seats using over 30 tons of sawdust every day.
