Marshall Islands-registered LNG tanker Zarga, loaded with 205,000 cubic meters of liquefied natural gas, berthed on May 23 at the PetroChina Jiangsu LNG Terminal at Yangkou Port in Rudong county – administered Nantong city in East China's Jiangsu province – marking a milestone for the facility.

Since the official start of operations on May 24, 2011, the terminal has received and offloaded 536 LNG vessels, transporting a total 44.65 million metric tons of LNG and over 62 billion cu m of natural gas has been exported.

During the 11 years, the Nantong Marine Safety Administration has continued to optimize its services and management. It has opened fast-track channels for vessels to efficiently and smoothly complete port inspection procedures.

The PetroChina Jiangsu LNG Terminal is the largest of its kind in the Yangtze River Delta region. It currently has six LNG storage tanks, with total tank capacity of 1.08 million cu m.

When operating at full capacity, the terminal can guarantee the gas consumption of 23 million households for one month during peak consumption seasons.
