Chongchuan district in Nantong city, East China's Jiangsu province, will build a 2,400-hectare agricultural park that will combine agriculture with sightseeing, culture and leisure in a bid to boost tourism.

The project was launched on Jan 8 and according to officials at a news conference announcing the details, it will be located in the northern suburbs of Chongchuan to take advantage of the agricultural resources there.

The park will feature a demonstration area showcasing the integration of the industries, as well as a farm experience area, a science area and a culture, tourism and leisure fun zone.

A half-marathon path will connect the sections.

Plans are for the first phase of the project to be completed before May 1, with the remaining work scheduled to be done around November.

After completion, the park will become Nantong's second pair of green lungs after Nantong Wushan Mountain National Forest Park.
