Chongchuan's efforts to high-quality development
Chongchuan district in Nantong, East China's Jiangsu province, has been focused on boosting its high-quality development in recent years.
Some of the measures taken by local authorities include deepening cooperation between enterprises and universities.
For example, the district recently signed a new cooperation agreement with the Nanjing University of Posts and Telecommunications to establish four national platforms for the integrated circuit industry.
The Nantong Institute of Nanjing University of Posts and Telecommunications, which was formed as a result of the previous cooperation between the two sides, is now the nation's only talent base for the IC industry.
The district has also provided subsidies of up to 5.5 million yuan ($797,448) to such cooperative projects.
In addition, the district has focused on attracting more investment to boost its industrial development. In March, a promotional conference for Chongchuan which took place in Shanghai witnessed the signing of projects worth over 7.2 billion yuan.
Local authorities have also been making efforts to attract more investment, as well as created the Chief Service Officer system which provides customized services for enterprises.
According to the system, public officials, including the secretary of the CPC Chongchuan committee, will open 24-hour hotlines to respond to enterprises’ concerns.
Last year, local authorities made more than 900 visits to enterprises and solved 522 problems.
Chongchuan has also attached great importance to attracting talents from various fields. Zheng Ziqie, the chief technology officer of Tongfu Microelectronics Co Ltd, was one of the talents that the district introduced in 2021.
Zheng currently conducts cutting-edge research on small chip packaging with the aim of solving bottleneck issues in the field of integrated circuits.
According to local authorities, the district had in 2022 attracted nearly 8,000 talents, the most in Nantong city.
