The Chongchuan Economic Development Zone, or the CCEDZ – based in the district of Chongchuan in Nantong city in East China's Jiangsu province – is on the march to expand its IT applications sector.

In order to do so, it recently held an event in Beijing to attract companies operating in the information technology applications innovation industry, inviting them to settle in the zone and operate there in a more efficient way.

Liu Hao, Party secretary of the Chongchuan district, attended the event and gave a keynote speech to representatives of more than 100 businesses.

Plans to build an IT applications innovation center were unveiled during the event. The project will be jointly built by the CCEDZ and China Electronics System Technology Co Ltd, a subsidiary of China Electronics Corporation.

With a construction area of 20,000 square meters, it will have three centers that will be used for exhibitions and exchanges and personnel training programs, among other things. These will serve related enterprises, service providers and train new hires expected to arrive there in the future.

A deal was also inked between the CCEDZ and the Zhongguancun Development Group to jointly build an information valley innovation center. It will be a key venue for the development of new-generation information technology, information security, advanced manufacturing, as well as technology and financial services.

Nantong has been prioritizing the development of its IT applications innovation industry, seeing it as driving force for the industrial transformation of its main urban area. The business ecosystem has been improving, with strong government and financial support provided for related projects and services.
