Tongzhou launches OPC community
Tongzhou district in Nantong has recently launched an OPC (One Person Company) community, a service carrier enabling artificial intelligence-empowered individual entrepreneurs to operate as a company. The core objective is to build a full-chain empowerment ecosystem for new startups. It is also a crucial move by Tongzhou in laying out its AI application ecosystem.
Backed by 116 petaFLOP/s AI computing power, it meets entrepreneurs' core needs in model training, data processing, and business operations. Collaborating with Huawei ecosystem, it provides professional technology support in scenario innovation and model incubation, addressing solo entrepreneurs' technological weakness and matchmaking issues.
Aligned with the AI category of the district's "510 Talent Program", talent selected for the community can receive up to 5 million yuan (about$713,700) in project grants and 2 million yuan in housing subsidies. Winners of national AI competitions who settle in the community within three years can apply for a 500,000-yuan bonus and gain direct access to the program.
The community has connected with 86 digital economy projects in AI applications, intelligent technology, and autonomous driving.
The AI large model targeting at Nantong's high-end home textile sector has attracted over 20 designers. Haituo's intelligent inspection solutions integrating 5G and AI technologies suits local manufacturing. Projects from Zhuzhao Intelligent Cloud, Zhiwei Technology, and Junfeng Elevator Intelligent Technology focus on niche segments, aligning with Nantong's "616" industrial system.
Projects in AI + architecture, shipping, and training are also progressing.
The district has distributed 100 million yuan to AI Science and Technology Innovation Angel Fund of Funds, supporting early-stage projects with up to 5 million yuan in start-up capital. The 500-million-yuan Shanghai-Nanjing Embodied Intelligence Industrial Fund funds growth-stage projects in embodied intelligence.
The community plans to launch 50 core projects, cultivate 150 digital economy innovators, and link resources from Nantong's six major industrial clusters, promoting the deep integration of entrepreneurs' ideas with industrial development.
