The Qidong Civil Drone Test Flight Base in the Jianghai Lanwan Tourism Resort began operations on Oct 24.

Spanning approximately 6,667 square meters, the test flight base features a drone runway that is 476 meters long and 10 meters wide, with an airspace covering around 78 square kilometers.

The base is equipped with a command center, drone takeoff and landing zones, and runways, providing the ideal environment for the testing, training, and demonstration of both fixed-wing and multi-rotor drones. The base also uses a cloud-based drone system to offer technical support for drone testing, flight operations, and airspace management.

The base began its trial operations on Jan 27, and since then, it has been actively recruiting drone-related projects, including flight testing, airworthiness certification, low-altitude tourism, research and training, scenario validation, and flight services.

To accelerate the development of low-altitude projects, the Jianghai Lanwan Tourism Resort has offered support to start-up businesses, based on their initial operational costs. The resort provides 10,000 square meters of office space on the first floor of its office building to incubate businesses. Additionally, the resort offers discounted pricing for companies using the test flight base's facilities. Start-ups can also streamline the flight approval process by applying through a subsidiary of the group.
