NHIZ boosts growth through innovation
In recent years, Nantong National High-tech Industrial Development Zone has focused on technological innovation as a means to optimize its core industries and foster emerging sectors, achieving notable progress in this regard.
In early September, two companies from the zone were included in the sixth batch of national-level "little giant" enterprises specializing in advanced, niche industries.
Local companies in the zone are also making strides in tackling core industry technologies, resulting in a steady stream of scientific and innovative breakthroughs.
One standout is Qiangxin Technology (Nantong) Co Ltd, a national high-tech enterprise specializing in drawing steel wires as fine as human hair.
"Currently, our diamond wire bus bars have a 30 percent market share, ranking among the top three nationwide," said Ma Jinfeng, deputy general manager of Qiangxin Technology.
The company has taken its expertise to the next level. On May 12, 2024, Qiangxin Technology, in collaboration with Qingdao Gaoce Technology Co Ltd, introduced a 60-micron ultra-thin silicon wafer—the thinnest in the world. "This wafer can bend like paper," Ma noted, highlighting the groundbreaking achievement.
By prioritizing innovation, NHIZ continues to position itself as a hub for cutting-edge technologies and emerging industries.
