The Chongchuan Economic Development Zone, or CCEDZ, in Nantong, Jiangsu province, recently held an event that combined tea tasting with reading.

Attended by foreign exchange students and families with children, the event aimed to introduce more people to the charm of traditional culture.

At the event, Du Rong, a national-level senior tea artist, showcased the art of pouring tea from a long-spout kettle, while national-level senior tea artist Gu Yuanyuan demonstrated and elucidated the techniques of diancha, a tea-making technique resembling latte art that gained popularity during the Song Dynasty (960-1279).

Additionally, children and foreign exchange students recited classical poems, depicting the beauty of spring.

"This is the first time I've participated in such an interesting event. Chinese tea and intangible cultural heritage have left a deep impression on me," said Noman, an exchange student from Bangladesh, sharing his experience on his personal Facebook account and expressing his excitement to explore more traditional Chinese cultural activities in the future.

Moving forward, the CCEDZ will continue to use traditional festivals and the twenty-four solar terms as a foundation to build a platform for cultural exchange. The zone will carry out various forms of cultural activities from multiple perspectives to create a rich literary atmosphere, enhance the promotion of Chinese culture, and facilitate cross-cultural dialogue.
