Throughout its long existence, this magnolia tree has witnessed the ebb and flow of history, embodying humanity's aspirations for a beautiful life.

The tree's Chinese name, "Erqiao Yulan" (Two Qiaos Magnolia), originates from the famous beauties Da Qiao (older Qiao) and Xiao Qiao (younger Qiao), who were two sisters of the Qiao family, from the Three Kingdoms period. Their names symbolize the beauty and elegance associated with this particular magnolia species.
