Overseas Chinese author promotes Sino-France culture with new book

Updated: 2024-03-28

The book sharing event for Li Chunyan's latest publication, Cyrano Confucius Et Moi, was held at Nantong Haixing Electronics Co Ltd in Pingchao town, Tongzhou district in Nantong, Jiangsu province, on March 26.

This marks Li's second book, detailing her journey from Tongzhou to Paris, France, and shedding light on the cultural differences between China and France, especially in aspects of daily life, professional environment, and relationships.

"Building international bridges requires embracing both similarities and differences," said Li during the event. Born in Pingchao, Tongzhou, Li is an alumna of Peking University and HEC Paris. Since 2003, she has resided in Paris, tirelessly working to communicate a rational voice about China overseas and fostering mutual understanding, exchange, and cooperation between China and France.

The event, organized by Tongzhou, is part of efforts to promote cross-cultural exchanges between China and the West. "As an outstanding representative of Tongzhou who has ventured abroad, Li's new book underscores her commitment to enhancing Sino-French friendship and cultural exchange," said Gu Hongju, deputy director of the Nantong municipal overseas Chinese affairs office.

"Her work holds significant meaning for pooling overseas Chinese resources, deepening exchanges and cooperation, and boosting economic development," Gu added.

Ludovic Weber, chief executive officer of Asia Pacific at Saint-Gobain, a French multinational corporation, attended the event. Additionally, congratulatory messages for the book's publication were recorded by Christophe Lauras, President of CCI France Chine, and Francois Quentin, former chairman of the board of directors of Huawei France.
