The culture and tourism industry has become a key driver of high-quality development in Hai'an, a county-level city in Nantong, East China's Jiangsu province.

This year, 10 projects in the county have been listed as Nantong municipal key culture and tourism industrial projects.

Among them is the construction of the Xinyuan silk exhibition center, which is backed by an investment of 500 million yuan ($70.89 million).

The center aims to showcase the traditional techniques of silk reeling, spinning, and thickening as well as cultural and creative silk products.

Jiangsu Lianfa Textile Co Ltd, located in the county, has established the Kingdom of James Shirts, which is a provincial industrial tourism site in the county.

In addition, Hai'an established the 523 Culture Industrial Park to boost cultural exchanges.

Since its establishment in 2009, the zone has held more than 50 high-standard art exhibitions.

It has been also designated as national demonstration base for the culture industry.

To boost the development of the culture and tourism industry in the county, local authorities have launched incentive policies for related projects.

For example, new tourist attractions in the county that have been classified as 3A, 4A, and 5A grade will receive incentives worth 200,000 yuan, 2 million yuan, and 4 million yuan, respectively.
