Hai'an Economic Development Zone in East China's Jiangsu province has been boosting innovative reforms such as intelligent reconstruction and digital transformation as key drivers for the real economy in recent years.

Several local enterprises, including Jiangsu Lianfa Textile Co Ltd and Nantong Yuetong CNC Equipment Co Ltd, have benefited from the innovative reform.

Jiangsu Lianfa Textile Co Ltd, a well-established company with a history of over 60 years, has built a complete industrial chain from cotton processing to garment production.

In recent years, Lianfa Textile has undergone a digital transformation that has further promoted its high-quality development.

According to the company, Lianfa Textile has not only achieved real-time intelligent monitoring and control of production lines but also established a data management platform for the entire production process.

Thanks to the digital transformation, the company has reduced the production cycle by 15 percent, improved on-time production in the workshops by 10 percent, and achieved annual savings of over 10 million yuan ($1.42 million) in water, electricity, and steam energy consumption.

"Such achievements are not solely attributed to the company," said a person in charge of the company.

The local government provides special funding every year to encourage enterprises to carry out intelligent transformation and digitalization.

Nantong Yuetong CNC Equipment Co Ltd is a high-tech company that specializes in the research and development of intelligent manufacturing solutions, system integration, and key component technologies for furniture production.

In support of high-tech enterprises in the zone, local authorities have encouraged the vigorous development of 5G network infrastructure and enlisted 11 service providers to offer free intelligent transformation and digitalization diagnosis services to large-scale enterprises.

In 2020, the company completed the construction of 5G macro base stations and realized cloud computing.

By 2022, the company achieved an 8.33 percent increase in production efficiency, a 12.5 percent reduction in production cycles, and a 20 percent decrease in equipment failure rates.

Going forward, the zone will continuously prioritize intelligent reconstruction and digital transformation as key strategies to facilitate deep integration between the digital economy and the real economy.
