The 13th Pear Blossom Festival kicked off in Dagong town in Hai'an, a county-level city in Nantong, East China's Jiangsu province on March 26, local media reported.

The event featured a series of activities like a tug-of-war competition, ram fighting, a float parade, and dragon and lion dance. Visitors can also admire a vast 4,000-mu (266.67 hectares) field of pear flowers in the town.

Among those who have attended the festival is Ying Heguang, a member of the Shanghai Artists Association.

Ying said that the pear flowers in Dagong town are well-known in the country and have inspired her and her fellow artists.

The event also witnessed the opening ceremony of the 10th Hai'an Rural Tourism Festival.
