The Chang'an modern industrial park for textile technology in Hai'an, a county-level city in Nantong, Jiangsu province, was recently approved as the first provincial water-saving industrial park in Nantong by the Jiangsu Water Resources Department.

Located in the Hai'an Economic Development Zone, the industrial park was built by the Hai'an and Changshu authorities.

The industrial park has systems that can monitor water intake, usage and drainage, as well as reduce water usage.

The industrial park has also leveraged the nearby wetland to extract up to 3.15 million cubic meters of water from industrial sewage every year. This water is then used to produce textiles.

A factory for recycled water is also currently under construction in the park. The factory is expected to boost the industrial park's usage rate of reclaimed water to over 50 percent when completed.

The textile enterprises in the industrial park have also upgraded production machines to reduce water consumption. Nine water-saving technologies in the park have been granted invention patents.

Today, the reuse rate of industrial water in the park stands at 93 percent, and more than 1 million cubic meters of water is saved every year due to the park's water recycling efforts.
