Chongchuan district – located in Nantong city, in East China's Jiangsu province – staged a launch of its new tourism brand on June 23 and Liu Hao, Party secretary of Chongchuan, attended the event and announced its release.

Cheng Yuanyuan, deputy head of Chongchuan district, made a keynote speech in which she stated that Chongchuan was on the move to build up its image nationally and internationally. This will involve promotional videos, slogans, logos, tiny books, mascots, maps and a Douyin, or Tik Tok, account during the 14th Five-Year Plan period (2021-25).

Moving forwards, Chongchuan plans to draw up a blueprint for the development of its urban tourism. It also plans to release a special issue of the Chinese National Geography Magazine – a Chinese monthly founded in 1949, similar to the National Geographic – to ensure that the cultural and tourism resources of Chongchuan reach their target audience directly, Cheng added.

Qidi Culture and Tourism (Jiangsu) Co Ltd signed agreements on the day with the administrative committee of the Shibei Hi-tech Park concerning two tourism projects.

The district's culture and tourism bureau also signed agreements with the Yangtze River Delta Integration Tourism Alliance – and its branches in Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Anhui provinces and Shanghai city – in a move to attract more tourists to travel in Chongchuan.
