A tropical fruit plantation located in Dingyang village, Chengzhong sub-district, Rudong county, has gained more and more popularity through being shown on an online network.

The orchard was established in 2016. During the past four years, the fruit variety in the orchard has increased, from only dragon fruit to figs and passion fruit. Its cultivated area has expanded to 11 mu (7,333 square meters). All the products of the orchard are sold online.

"I have visited the orchard three or four times this year," a citizen named Wang Jianmei said. "The dragon fruits are fresh and delicious, and the passion fruits can be used to make tea drinks."

Wang is a frequent visitor to the orchard. She first saw a video that introduced the plantation on Douyin, or TikTok. She was attracted in that dragon fruit plantations were rare in Rudong. The next day, she visited the orchard at the location address shown on Douyin.

In addition to gaining more popularity, the orchard has also absorbed some surplus labor in the village in the busy harvest season.
