Chongchuan district in Nantong, Jiangsu province recently pitched nearly 300 tents throughout local communities to provide shelter for workers and volunteers.

A total of 517 communities in the district are now being strictly managed to prevent and control the outbreak of the novel coronavirus. Community workers and volunteers are taking turns monitoring the communities.

Most communities are equipped with reception rooms. However, workers in many older communities do not enjoy such luxuries. They are forced brave wind and rain, making their job unbearably difficult.

Wang Hongyan, secretary of the branch Party committee of Daqing community, said that some side entrances to residential quarters had been closed to more easily monitor residents.
