Gangzha organizes knitting classes for disabled people
A knitting class was recently held for disabled people in Gangzha district, Nantong, Jiangsu province on International Day for Persons with Disabilities, which falls on Dec 3.
During the class, people learned how to make handicrafts such as Chinese knots and dolls. The class was taught by volunteers.
After the class, many participants were able to produce their very own knitting works.
According to a volunteer surnamed Ji, knitting is a useful skill for disable people, as they can use it to start businesses, earn money, and better integrate into society. It can also serve as a form of rehabilitative treatment for some disabled people by improving their hand eye coordination.
