Hai'an has made significant progress in its efforts to reduce crime. According to a survey carried out in the first half of this year, 99.2 percent of Hai'an residents feel safe in the city – a higher percentage than any other city in Jiangsu province.

The local government has implemented a new plan for reducing crime and has dispatched officials to investigate all districts and towns throughout the city. Working systems have been improved to ensure everything goes smoothly. Suggestions and complaints from residents are also being dealt with in a timely manner.

About 40 cases have been handled during the anti-crime push so far, and 80 new measures have been implemented in 22 villages.

Hai'an also plans to begin paying more attention to prominent issues in major industries and fields, and will make solving these issues a top priority.
