Qidong constructs advanced offshore engineering vessel

The N829 wind turbine installation vessel was completed in Qidong, Nantong, Jiangsu province on Oct 4, and has been shipped to Rostock, Germany.

The vessel is one of the most advanced offshore engineering vessels in the world and was designed by China COSCO Shipping Group for Dredging Environmental & Marine Engineering NV in Belgium.

It is equipped with LNG dual-fuel auxiliary and main generators, a deck crane which can lift 5,000 tons of goods, a DP3 positioning system, and an eight-point mooring system.

The vessel has left for Rostock to finish follow-up installation work and will be delivered to Belgium in the first quarter of 2020.
